NEARBY AMENITIES & LODGING
Within walking distance of the museum is a range of restaurants, bars, boutique shops, and parks, as well as a neighborhood of stately Victorian homes. The Muscatine visitor’s center, located within the Chamber of Commerce building, is across the street from the museum, and the downtown farmer’s market is around the corner by City Hall on Saturday mornings.
Riverside Park, along the Mississippi River, is two blocks away, featuring a pet-friendly cycling/walking trail, picnic tables, benches, a boat ramp, a playground, historic statues and plaques, and monthly concerts.
The upscale Merrill Hotel, rated Iowa’s #2 hotel by U.S. News and World Report, is also across the street. With unparalleled views of the Mississippi, it’s a great place to stay downtown while visiting Muscatine.
